Tuesday, August 18 Race Results

A blown amplifier meant no music for the night, but the racing was great fun. We wrapped up this 10 week Tuesday night points race program in style. 390 riders in total, or about 3 riders per night more than 2008, $3575 raised for our Velodrome, 71% men, 20% women and 9% juniors, and some great racing. Oh, and we did not have a single crash on a Tuesday night points race!

Steve Anderson presented me with a few of these posters that he made up. I can’t wait until we dive into 2010. Good times ahead!

My dauhter Aubrey helped me set-up for the night and was there to selll drinks and goodies to collect donations for her Team and Training Triathlon. You can follow her progress (and make tax deductible donations) at: http://pages.teamintraining.org/sf/bigktri09/anolan

Thank you all for supporting this series, and especially thanks go out to Clif Bar, Peet’s and Jen Coler for her brownies!

Tuesday, August 4 Race Results

2-1/2 hours of racing, 3 hours of the Beatles!

“When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride
And I get to the bottom and I see you again”
Helter Shelter, White Album, The Beatles, circa 1968

On August 18th we’re going with Live! Music… not an actual band playing live, but a totally wide range of live recordings.

Least we forget that the racing was fun! We had so many B’s we had to split them up. That’s a good sign that track cycling is booming in San Jose! Even still, the B’s are the best races to watch. 13 of 20 starters scored in the first race and 15 of 19 starters scored in the 2nd race… that’s competitive!

Tuesday, July 7 Race Results

Another great turnout for points racing. We’re averaging 40 riders this year whereas we averaged 34 last year. Maybe it was the Red Bull girls that brought the riders out? Maybe it was the Peets coffee certificates? Thank you for supporting this series.

Tuesday, June 16 Race Results

I’m sorry for the delayed posting of these results. I’ve got some good excuses so I’ll share them with you. Firstly, I led the team efforts at the 2009 USA Cycling Western Regional Development Camp and that was exhausting, but very rewarding. Secondly I crashed at Nevada City (with the M45 leaders with 3 to go) and broke my collarbone. Thanks for your patience.

July 7 with sprints every 5 laps, July 21 with sprints every 10 laps
August 4 with sprints every 5 laps, August 18 with sprints every 10 laps
Possibly some September racing if interest is high.

Brownies provided by Jen Coler!
